Good Afternoon Year 10! On this blog you can post your diary entry. Remember that you are a 16-30 year old male, living and working in and around Ludlow. Your diary entry should write about your work, entertainment, social activities etc for a particular day or couple of days. My Diary Entry

    Saturday 21st May 1914

    Dear Diary,
Today’s been a long day as it has been tipping it down with rain all day and in the meantime I have had to look after the horses (Alfie & Elsie); as well as working in the fields. I do not understand why they do not make it simpler to look after horses and plough, I have to feed them; groom them in addition to putting their harnesses on ready to connect to the plough.

I suppose today’s also a good day as I met a few of my mates at the local pub so it will get me out of the rain

    Sunday 22nd May 1914

    Dear Diary,
Today I got up early, to the sound of ringing bells from the town criers, squeaking of the bird’s that were fluttering on my roof, I was all ready to go to church, as I do every Sunday. After church, I groomed my horses and took them for a ride around the field as it had improved in the weather today. It was nothing like yesterdays; today it was nice and warm with a gentle breeze.

Today I woke up early hearing town criers, people walking by and church bells. As today was a Sunday I got dressed and walked to church. After church I walked home and had a lunch of cheese & bread. In the afternoon I groomed and shoed my horse. I then loaded my horse with my painting stuff and went down to the river. I was painting for around 2 hours. It was really peaceful by the river and all you could hear was the birds and the wind in the trees. I then had a slow walk on my horse home appreciating the orange sunset.

I am up early because I have work this morning. I have to sow the wheat and milk the cows. So I ate my bowl of porridge and walked down to the farm. I started by milking the cows. There aren’t that many cows on the farm so it only took me about an hour and a half. So then I went and got the wheat seeds and threw them across the field this took me about 3 hours then I went home. And eat some lunch cheese and bread again.

    Dear diary,
Today I woke up at 5 in the morning which is very early for me and had a very nice breakfast. Today was one of my busiest days I’ve ever had at the church and I was working 7-6pm today. I had to bury 3 people today, 2 were because of old age and the other was a young boy who got killed in a car accident. Christened one very cute little girl and married 4 lovely couples. After that very busiest day at the church I got home at about half 6 and got changed out of my work uniform and got into some shorts. Then I played a couple of games with my beautiful family, first we played a game of hide and seek in the house. I seem to have always been trying to find my wife victoria and my 2 sons Fredrick and Arthur. Next to played a game of chess with my wife because my sons don’t know how to play it yet, I won of course. Then we all had dinner, today we had a piece of bread and a rash of bacon which was quiet nice. After this lovely game I went to get an early night because I had a long day at work and was very tired tonight, hoping that the weather would get better than today because it had been raining nonstop all day.

  5. In brendon hill we realisise that its a verry calm place with the quote "The bells singing so clear" and "a happy noice to hear" showing they can clearly hear the bells played that allows happyness and calmness to the simple town.

"Come to church good people, good people come and pray" showing that its a verry religious place with praying calm people.
